How Can WBC In Urine Along With Fever Be Treated?

My daughter went to the ER two nights ago, she had a fever 103, she could not keep anything down, and was dehydrated, they gave her an IV her white blood cells were found in her urine?, she had thought it maybe a kidney infection, but the urine came back and no- not kidney infection or bladder. They did STD tests, and nothing. But, she still hurts, her stomach feels bloated, and she is very sore. My daughter set up an appt. with a GYN and that is tomorrow, what questions should she ask and tests to have done?
Thank you,
Denise

Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.

All the symptoms you have mentioned suggestive of urinary tract infection (UTI). It indicates infection along anywhere in her urinary tract starting from kidney to urethra. STD is very unlikely.
You don't need to worry much as it can be cured completely with timely treatment.
I suggest you to consult a general physician and get the following things done:-
(1)- A urine routine examination and urine culture is needed to confirm the diagnosis and choose the best antibiotic.
(2)- Antibiotic therapy is essential and the choice of antibiotic will depend on culture results.
(3)- Acetaminophen(paracetamol) can be given for fever and pain.
(4)- Advise her to take plenty of water. She can also have cranberry juice which act as a good urinary antiseptic.
If symptoms persist despite all these.additional investigations like ultrasound scan may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.

Regards.
